Monday January 4

Hello faithful blog followers. Well, today was supposed to be my first day back to work but I do not feel up to the task. I called and scheduled my follow up appointment for this Thursday- i had the wrong time on the last appointment.
I just seem too tired to blog if you can believe that! I did walk 8 tenths of a mile today. It was very difficult and I am wiped out. The weather is very cold around these parts! I think my improvements are so small that I do not notice them. Please , pray that I will be feeling up to returning to work as I am out of paid time off. I am working on keeping a positive attitude as I feel it is essential. Positive thoughts attract positive outcomes. I also know that all things are possible through God, so I keep reminding myself to leave the worry to HIM.
I spoke with Nathan and Dawn today and they are very encouraging as well. They want me to come for a visit. Barb, Dad, Steve, and Kacy check in most days. Ron has been attentive. I do not know how anyone could go through this without lots of support.
I am working on getting in fluids. Cool liquids are uncomfortable. Also, working on supplements.

  1. Your doing 'great' Lib.It will all come in 'babysteps'...and before you know it you'll be moving ahead really fast. The first couple of months you are still sdjusting to what to eat and what not to eat and what you tolerate and so on. It sounds complicated but before long it will all come so natural to you.And yes it is very important to have family and friends for support. I'm always available :) Your in my prayers and Keep up the blogs ...some of your encouragement will be found right here ;waiting on you. God has your hand in His and He is walking this journey with you .God bless and keep up the fantastic work ! *Yes liguids are tough to get down ...they fill you up really fast.

  2. 8/10 of a mile?!?! That is really good. Gosh, you really seem determined...and that is so important. I know you can do it...and I know God won't ever give you anything you can't handle. I love you and I will see you soon. Thanks for blogging when you can. I know you are tired, but setting your mind to do certain things and then doing them will eventually just become habit. Keep it up. Phase 1 is over, and now it is time to look forward to...and find JOY in...getting back to your normal life and normal routine. Going back to work is always difficult, and I can't imagine how much added stress is on you going back to work after surgery (I had a hard time going back to work after Christmas vacation), but getting back to real life is going to be a GREAT thing, so try to think of the positive side of it. Not only will it be a distraction, but it will be somethign else for you to focus on so all of your thoughts won't be consumed by all of this stuff. I want to try to find JOY in things that don't seem joyful....that's a New Year's resolution of sorts for me. Maybe we can share that one??

    I love you TONS!!

  4. Hey Libby--

I Love Joel Osteen- I'm reading his book: "It's Your Time" - very inspiring and reminds us that we can make all the plans we want, but it's God's plan that will prevail - difficult situations we go through in life ultimately help to make us a better person- and you are in the right field of work to carry over compassion, understanding, kindness, concern to others - which I feel you do send out those "vibes." Try to get that book - I got mine at WalMart - its the kind of book you can read over and over. Keeping you in my prayers - along with warmer weather- this is temps from the North- I'm not used to this anymore! Love ya, Cathy
